An extreme-duty, mil-spec antenna 175 feet long and 3 feet wide; the BB-2K-175G antenna covers the HF spectrum from 1.6 to 30 MHz and low VHF from 30 to 80MHz! Also available in the smaller BB-2K-90G model, covering 3 to 80 MHz, both are CCS rated at 1KW CW/2KW SSB.
Designed especially for stations using ALE/Frequency Hopping modes and for installation in harsh climatic environments; these antennas are for fixed-station use and are built like a truck! They will take weather conditions that would destroy most other designs!
Shipped fully assembled, the BB series antennas include everything required for installation except a mounting structure(s), 50 ohm coaxial feed-line w/N-Male connector and 3/8 to 1/4 inch support rope.
All hardware is stainless-steel, wire elements are heavily insulated with mil-spec black PE insulation and are 13 AWG strained copper-clad steel. Spreaders are 1.5 inch OD fiberglass tubing with .125 inch walls and are reinforced with a .250 inch wall at all points where they are penetrated by the wire elements, and/or support ropes.
All connections are strain-relieved, using a unique combination of .125 inch OD double-braided black poly rope and machine swedged heavy-duty aluminum crimps!
