The BB-500-175A™ Is an extremely broad-banded, terminated multi-wire HF antenna system, originally designed for military and government ALE applications. A very serious antenna for serious operational requirements and ideal for amateurs involved in EmComm operations; especially MARS/CAP and other stations requiring a single, high-performance antenna system for use on both amateur and miitary frequencies. Covering HF through low VHF, this single system is all that is needed. CCS rated at 500W CW/1KW PEP and measuring just over 53.34 meters (175 feet) in length and less than 1 meter wide (36 inches); these antennas are hand-built and individually tested to meet or exceed all mil-specs for wire communications antennas. All materials and construction methods used are second to none! They are over-built for continous duty in all climates and will easily handle weather conditions that would destroy lessor designs! Weight is about 16.3 Kg (32.5 pounds) The BB-500-175A covers 160-6 meter amateur bands PLUS!

They have been tested from below 1.3 to above 180 MHz with worse case VSWR of 3.2:1 throughout this range. A perfect 1:1 match is easily attained using most present and legacy military systems as well as most modern amateur transceivers with and without built-in tuners. It is an outstanding choice for those requiring one antenna coverage of both HF and low VHF frequencies, in a moderate sized antenna. The hand-built Array Solutions baluns, housed in a weather-proof 4 x 4 NEMA marine enclosure and mounted to our very heavy, UHMW-PE mounting plates are much of the reason why these antennas are considered by many professionals as one of the finest broad-band wire antennas in the world! Our standard connector is a type-N but others are available on request. Because the baluns are true baluns, they are at DC ground and bleed-off static charges long before they can damage sensitive equipment, making them extremely quiet as well!

The BB-500-175A can be installed as a flat-top, inverted-v or in many sloping configurations. Its pattern is ideal for NVIS operations through 12 MHz and both medium and long range shots above this frequency. It comes fully assembled and includes everything needed but the 50 ohm coax feed line, 6 mm (3/8-1/4 inch) polyester suspension line and mounting structure(s). Any medium duty mast system, tree, building or tower will support it and apex heights as low as 7 meters, with the ends at 2 to 4 meters will do. All supplied hardware is stainless-steel and includes heavy-duty 5 CM (2 inch) U-bolts for mast mounting.
