The RADS 9-11/A1® is our pride and joy and the culmination of nearly 10 years of R&D and 30+ years of emergency communications experience.   The RADS 9-11/A1® is a manually tuned, man-portable, combination HF-NVIS and U/VHF Amateur Radio EmComm Antenna System; designed for rapid deployment under real world emergency field conditions, on hard or soft surfaces, WITHOUT TOOLS!   The system includes 75, 40 and 20 meter HF whip resonators with adjustable stainless-steel telescopic end whips.   The adjustable end-whips allow tuning for minimal VSWR and operation on all Amateur HF bands from 3 to 30 MHz AND the 6 meter VHF band, at up to 250 watts PEP.   Once these whips are adjusted for minimum VSWR and their lengths recorded, the system maybe easily tuned without tools or instruments for a good match anytime you change your frequency of operation.   If the transceiver used with this system has a built-in tuning unit, this will often allow a very wide change of frequency without a manual retune of the antenna system.  

The Patented Niljon® multi-polarized U/VHF element covers 25-1300 MHz receive, and allows transmit with very low VSWR on 130-180, 200-225 and 430-480 MHz; at up to 200 watts!   This wide bandwidth allows coverage of not only the three primary Amateur U/VHF bands, but most adjacent public safety, government and military bands as well!   It is BOTH horizontally and vertically polarized; with BOTH high and low angle lobes, to get your signal in and out of valleys and canyons, while also allowing long-range, to the horizon coverage on BOTH FM and SSB.   It's design affords great obstruction penetration, bandwidth and real gain; all while greatly reducing "picket-fencing" and "flutter" often associated with weak FM mobile signals.   It's everything needed to field a full- function, multi-band emergency communications antenna system under disaster conditions.   Both the HF and U/VHF elements have separate 50 ohm coaxial feed-lines (INCLUDED), and may be operated at the same time, without mutual interferrence.   Use a multi-band, multi-port duplexer and operate multiple U/VHF transceivers on different bands and the same time!   Upgrade your RADS 9-11/A1® to the same auto-tuning capabilities of the a RADS 9-11/A2-237® model at anytime, by purchasing the optional Tuner Mounting Kit   Download the latest revision of the RADS 9-11/A1® Owner's Manual here.   Please keep in mind that these systems are hand-built, one at a time from the finest materials available and fully tested, prior to shipment.   For this reason, you may expect a delay of 3 to 6 weeks in some cases, before your order is ready for shipment.   Due to U.S. Department of State regulations and the current world situation; these systems are considered to have military application and their export to some countries is RESTRICTED.

All included system components are stored and carried in the included military grade OD green vinyl-canvas case measuring only 54 IN x 6 IN x 4 IN at about 13 Lbs. (137.2 CM x 15.2 CM x 10.2 CM @ 6 Kg).   This case is designed roomy enough to allow the carry of the optional Mast Extension Kit or Cable Extension Kit.   The optional Tuner Mounting Kit includes the mounting tray, all required hardware and a separate, smaller carry case matching the standard system case.   This kit will allow mounting of many popular tuners; including the SGC® SG-237 Smartuner® and Yaesu® FC-40, NOT INCLUDED
