Like our RADS 9-11/A1®, the NEW RADS 9-11/A2-237® is a complete man-portable combination HF/NVIS and U/VHF antenna system designed for emergency field deployments under the worst of conditions.   Unlike the A1 model that is manually tuned however; this system features completely automatic band switching and tuning by means of a specially modified SGC® SG-237 auto-coupler and Smartlock® unit.   The coupler is mounted at the HF feed-point on a specially designed, 1/4 inch thick UHMW-PE mounting tray and is designed to cover all frequencies, 3 through 60 MHz to 100W PEP. Operate NVIS from 3 to12 MHz, and medium to long-range HF from 12 to 30 MHz.   Use for dependable locale communications on FM or SSB from 30-60 MHz. It covers 130-180, 220-225 and 430-480 MHz using its multi-polarized Niljon® U/VHF element.   With a separate coax feed-line and both high and low angle lobes, it gets your signal in and out of valleys and canyons, while also allowing long-range, to the horizon coverage. Operate both FM and SSB, with great obstruction penetration, wide band-width and real gain; all while greatly reducing "picket-fencing" and "flutter" sometimes a problem with weak FM mobile signals.   An ideal choice for MARS/CAP, ARC, SAR and other Amateur EmComm operations requiring frequency agility, light-weight (25 pounds/12.5 Kg), ease of deployment and rugged construction.   It is complete in everyway, with no additional items required for operation, right out of the box!

Complete with heavy-duty, mil-spec OD green zippered vinyl carry case measuring 54 x 6 x 4 inches (137.2 x 15.2 x 10.2 CM) and a separate case measuring 15 x 12 x 3 inches (38.1 x 30.84 x 7.71 CM) for the tuning unit and cables. The system also includes a set of two, two-piece loaded HF whip elements with stainless-steel quick-connectors, for mounting to the coupler with just a twist of the wrist.   A set of optional wire elements allows operations on the 160 meter band and improved ERP on HF frequencies, whenever the extra required space is available.   An optional mast extension kit for additional height for improved LOS on U/VHF and better ERP on frequencies below 7 MHz is also available.
