The RADS 9-11/A3-237® is a complete, auto-tune, 1.8-60, 130-180, 220-225 and 430-480 MHz combo HF/U-VHF fixed station antenna system, especially designed for those requiring coverage of all HF bands and U/VHF in a single, intigraded antenna system.  Ideal for those Amateurs involved in emergency communications, AREA/RACES, MARS, CAP, SATURN and other services using frequencies outside the Amateur bands; this system includes EVERYTHING needed to install it just about anywhere; including most small yards and gardens, in just one, enjoyable afternoon!

It features a robust 24 foot guyed fiberglass mast, complete with top and mid-point adjustable 30 foot, 120° guys of .125 inch double-braided black polyester rope; complete with three mil-spec aluminum-alloy ground stakes.  Each mast section is 6 feet long x 1.5 inches OD and its olive-drab color blends well into most surroundings.  On top is our famous Niljon® wide-band, multi-polarized omni-directional U/VHF element with groundplane and 50 foot double-shielded RG-8X coax feed-line with soldered, high-quality UHF connectors.  The multi-polarized design of this element incorporates both horizontal and vertical components, with both high and low-angle radiation.  This ensures signals get into and out of canyons and valleys, while also being directed to and from the the horizon.  This multi-element design also provides good spacial diversity; to all but eliminate fading and picket-fencing of weak, FM mobile signals too.  This results in signals "punching" through obstructions better than anyother small antenna available!.  With its small cross-section and black oxide coated, stainless-steel construction, it not only blends well into most backgrounda to keep the XYL and the neighbors happy; but also presents almost no wind load.  This low wind resistance allows it to take high winds and weather that would damage most larger antennas, all the while delivering real gain!  This gain measures ~3dBi on 130-180, ~4 dBi on 220-225 and ~5 dBi on 430-480 MHz - with allowable power output of up to 200 watts CW!  In addition to being a fine transceiving antenna, it doubles as one of the worlds best small scanner antennas too; covering everything from 25 - 1300 MHz.

Just below this element is a specially modified SGC® SG-237 HF Smartuner® mounted on a 1/4 inch thick plate of UHMW-PE material designed to stand-up to constant UV and weather exposure for more than 25 years!  Stainless-steel hardware holds everything together and the two included 2 inch stainless-steel U-bolts hold the works to the mast.  The coupler features a separate 50 foot combination coax/control cable with soldered UHF connectors and a special connector used to connect it to the included SGC® Smartlock® unit at the control-point.  This specially modified Smartlock® uses LEDs to keep you informed on the status of the coupler and allows you to press a button to force an automatic retune, or to lock the unit to prevent retuning, etc., allowing you full control of the system.  The very heavy-duty, black PE insulated non-resonant inverted-v wire dipole elements give you great performance on everything from 1.8 to 60 MHz at up to 100W PEP, 40W CW.  Measuring only 56 feet overall, 28 feet per side; these elements come with attached 20 foot adjustable guys. The elements are made of 14AWG insulated Flex-weave® wire, that passes easily through tree limbs and shrubbery without grounding out or presenting a RF burn hazard if it should be accidentially contacted by someone while transmitting.  Resistant to UV, acid rain and most chemical polutants; these wire elements will last for years with little or no maintenence.  Their mil-spec PE insulation also resists ice formation, contributing to its long life, even when exposed constantly to the elements.  This system works as a NVIS system below 12 MHz AND has a good, low take-off angle on frequencies above 12 MHz - for excellent long and medium range performance on these frequncies.

Please keep in mind these systems are hand-built, one at a time from the finest materials and components available and fully tested, prior to shipment.   For this reason, you may expect a delay of 3 to 6 weeks in some cases, before your order is ready for shipment.   Due to U.S. Department of State regulations and the current world situation; these systems are considered to have military application and their export to some countries is RESTRICTED.
